We especially hope that you take time to relax and enjoy your cottage holiday. Our cottages are surrounded by beautiful nature, with great areas for berry and mushroom picking. Lake Kyyvesi is known for good fishing.
You can rent equipment for boating, paddleboarding (SUP), and electric biking from us. Regular bicycles are available for free use. In winter, when there is enough snow, there’s a ski trail near the cottages – and we also rent out skis.
The nearest services are in Haukivuori, where you’ll find a grocery store, pharmacy, and health center. Other nearby towns include Pieksämäki, Kangasniemi, and Mikkeli. We also have a small farm kiosk on the property where you can buy our own products and other essentials.
You can order a delicious breakfast basket as an added service, filled with homemade goods crafted from domestic ingredients, including our farm’s own products when available.

A local produce dinner basket is also available, making it easy to prepare a tasty meal.
You're welcome to meet our farm’s cows, chickens, and cats. The cows, of the native Finnish breed, pastures near the cottages on the summer, which is why certain areas are fenced.
Our friendly animals are approachable, but please remember that cows are large animals. Do not leave children unattended with them, and be cautious if they start running.
Our Koivuranta cows pasture on the same lakeside fields as they did in the 1930s. Today, their milk, combined with local berries, becomes delicious ice cream.
Our products honor Finnish nature, featuring flavors like cranberry, sea buckthorn, lingonberry, and blueberry. We also offer cheeses and beef.
Check-in starts at 15:00, and we’ll guide you to the cottage where you’ll receive keys. Please return the cottage clean and vacated by 12:00 on departure day.
All cottages have quality drinking water. Primary heating is from air source heat pumps and wood, with electric heating as a backup. Firewood is included.
Occupancy is limited to the number of fixed beds. Contact the owner if additional guests are expected.
Available amenities for free include a baby cot, high chair, potty, children’s life vests, bikes, and books in the summer library.
Cottage beaches are shallow and sandy near swimming areas. The Kotkanpesä beach deepens quickly.
Rowboats and life jackets are included in the rental. Boats are suited for up to three people. Children’s life vests are available.
Pets are welcome in Kataja, Pajunkissa, Pihjala and Mänty cottages. Please notify us if you’re bringing pets, and ensure the cottage is clean after their stay.
Guests are responsible for cleaning the cottage during and after their stay. Final cleaning can be arranged for an additional fee; please notify us in advance.
If you’d like to rent a cottage for the entire summer or for an extended period, contact us via email for long-term rental options.
The area around the cottages offers excellent spots for berry and mushroom picking. The forests are full of lingonberries and blueberries, and you might even find wild raspberries. Cranberries grow in the nearby marsh area. Please keep a distance of about 100 meters from other cottages and houses.
The farm has a hiking trail of about four kilometers, which in winter (weather permitting) is maintained as a ski track. Our cows graze in the forest pastures and have also created many small trails through the woods, perfect for exploring. Bicycles are also available for guests to borrow.
Each cottage includes a rowing boat, so it’s easy to head out on the lake for fishing or just a peaceful ride. Electric outboard motors and a motorboat are also available for rent. Life jackets for adults are in the cottages, and children's sizes can be borrowed from the farm.
In winter, guests can enjoy a sledding hill and a cozy grill hut, both freely available. The grill hut is also a nice spot for a break during a ski trip or walk in the forest.
Kyyvesi is one of the best waters in Finland for zander fishing. Additionally, you can catch species such as perch and pike. In winter, Kyyvesi also offers excellent ice fishing opportunities. The farm has a place to dig for fishing worms.
Fishing with a simple rod and ice fishing in winter are free of charge. Those under 18 and over 65 can fish with one rod for free. For other types of fishing, permits are available for purchase at eraluvat.fi. Rod and trap permits for the Kyyvesi area are sold in Haukivuori at Wanha Osula, or you can ask us for more information.
Lake Kyyvesi offers great opportunities for fishing and exploring beautiful lake scenery. It's a paradise for recreational anglers, especially known for its zander (pike-perch).
Nykälänkoski is a versatile destination for sport fishing. The river area is regularly stocked with catch-size lake trout to support the local fish population.
The café offers fresh savory and sweet pastries daily, also available to take away. The country shop features products from nearby farms, producers, and businesses. You’ll also get tips on how to use the products.

The Haukivuori Local History Museum is located in the village center of Haukivuori, in the old administrative heart of the area. The museum is housed in a traditional wooden grain storage building that once served as the municipal granary.

The Häkkilä trail network offers routes between 12–30 km in length. The trail loops through the Häkkilä village area and takes you across various forest landscapes. There are two main routes: a longer northern trail and a shorter southern one.
This route runs partly along the Häkkilä hiking trail. Starting point is at the intersection of Porsaskoskentie and Highway 72. Total route length is about 42 km. From Koivuranta cottages, it's 5 km to join the route.
This large trail network in Pieksämäki offers excellent outdoor opportunities for biking, hiking, running, and paddling. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just enjoying the peace of nature, this is a great place to explore.
This water route goes from Naarajärvi lake through Nykälä village to Lake Kyyvesi, near Koivuranta cottages. From there, you can continue toward Lake Puula, ending in Kangasniemi town center. The full route is over 100 km long, with 60 km of it on rivers.
Neitvuori is the highest peak in South Savo, located in Anttola. The nearby Hiisi trail network opens up beautiful views of Lake Saimaa and leads you to many natural wonders of the lake region.
Close to Mikkeli city, marked year-round trails are perfect for mountain biking, walking, running or snowshoeing. The longest trail, "Bear’s Loop", is 6.2 km, with shorter alternatives: "Otso’s Shortcut" (4.2 km) and "Teddy Path" (2.8 km).

Tornimäki is a feel-good ski resort, only 7 kilometers from downtown Mikkeli. Beautifully maintained slopes and streets, as well as the Hupitus children's area with its toboggan hill, provide excellent conditions for a fun day of skiing.
The 13 slopes of Häkärinteet offer snowy experiences for all ages, from beginners to speed enthusiasts. Häkärinteet is located in Hankasalmi, 50 km from the cottages.
